Negative Calorie Foods & Weight Loss

You gain weight when your calorie intake is more than your calorie expenditure. But if this caloric equation is reversed, the result is a "negative calorie" balance.

In this negative calorie scenario, you expend more calories than you take in, resulting in a overall decrease in stored calories in the form of body fat. About ten percent of your daily caloric intake is used to break down and process ingested food, but there are certain foods that create a negative caloric effect, as the body has to expend more energy to extract calories than the foods actually supply. Any exercise will also positively effect the equation.

These negative calorie foods require more calories to break down and digest than the calories the foods actually contain.

ALL extra calories are converted and stored as body fat. Thus, the negative calorie foods (also called minus calorie foods or fat burning foods) are the ideal choice for reducing overall body fat and to lose weight.

Let's look at a brief example. A dessert consisting of 300 total calories may only require 150 calories to be fully digested, resulting in a net gain of 150 calories, -- stored as body fat! If you eat 100 calories of a food that requires 150 calories to digest, you've burned an additional 50 calories simply by eating that food. These 50 calories are used up from your stores of body fat!

These everyday foods, about one hundred in number, are widely available in nature. The following is a brief list of some of the most common; asparagus, broccoli, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, carrot, garlic, papaya, spinach, turnip, zucchini, apples, oranges, lettuce, grapefruit, pineapples, strawberries, and raspberries.

Add these negative calorie food items to your daily diet, and consume them to full satisfaction without counting calories.

They'll fit right into an overall eating plan based on the latest food guide pyramid. You can follow a negative calorie diet for fast, safe, and permanent weight loss.
