BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Ashley Hughes was born in 1983. Ms. Hughes learned how to swim at age three and went on to become and All-County swimmer with the Long Beach High School Swim Team. Some of her relay records still stand today.

At age four she began training to figure skate. She attained a Senior Ladies Freestyle rank before entering high school. In college, at Miami University (Oxford, OH) Ashley skated at an international level with the Senior Synchronized Skating Team. Along with Ashley, the team competed around the world, including France and Switzerland, and ranked second in the country and ninth in the world.

Growing up in a small beach community on the south shore of Long Island, Ashley became obsessed with the ocean and outdoor activities. For eight years she was an Ocean Lifeguard. Ashley is an avid surfer (even during those frigid New York winters) and prides herself on pursuing whatever she does to its fullest extent. This belief in herself and others around her crosses over to Ashley's success as a professional Kettlebell lifter and trainer.

Today Ashley is a Master of Sport ranked Kettlebell Lifter, and coach with the American Kettlebell Club. Ashley specializes in both kettlebell and firefighter specific training. She is currently on the list of firefighter (#6019) for the FDNY, and has hopes of one day becoming a New York City firefighter herself. Ashley is also lead trainer at Body Balance Fitness and the East Coast Kettlebell Club where she shares her knowledge and demonstrates her abilities daily.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Ashley will be competing at the AKC Classic kettlebell lifting competition that's being held in Las Vegas on May 3 of 2008. For more info on attending the classic, send email to: americankettlebellclub@gmail.com
